Pakistan Lifestyle Furniture Expo 2019
A 3-days mega furniture exhibition held at Karachi, Hall no 6 Expo Centre, from Friday, 28th June till Sunday 30th June 2019.
This mega event graced by several Guests of Honors including Mr. H.E. Mirza Ishtiaq Baig (Consul General Kingdom of Morocco) Mr.Hassan Askari Vice President Italian Development Committee, Mr. Abdul Karim Adhia Vice Chairman Abad, Mrs. Nazli Abid Vice President WCCI karachi, Mr. Ruslan Aliev (Deputy Trade Representative Head of Branch) Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in Pakistan and Mr. Thatree Chauvachata Consul General of Thailand with delegation.
This mega event attended by Government bodies leading businessmen, Karachi Chamber of Commerce, Members of Karachi Assembly, stakeholders of the furniture industry.
The top 50 Furniture brands exhibited at the event. Master Molty Foam was the official sponsor of the event, while Master Celeste, Walnut Wood Furniture, Chinese Craftsmen, Uzma Curtains, Uzma The House of Interiors, Lunar Furniture, Siesta Interiors, Empire Furnishers and Interiors, The Carpet Emporium, ,Cilek, Trendz, Heaven Interiors, Zaraiz Atelier, Samar Furnishers, E-Fire, Cannon Primax Foam, Cannon Caricia, Decent Art Collection, Al Khair Up, The furnishers, Wajid Handicraft, Interwood, Hamayun, Hamzaz, The Home, Aayan, Sieger, Javrigo, Empire Furnishers & Interior etc, were the other major exhibitors.
60,000 visitors had attended this event, Visitors on the lookout for buying furniture were able to enjoy special discount of up to 50% on different items exhibited at the event.
This exhibition also provided the younger designers and architects to see the market trends and display their own work alongside that of more established professionals.
Pakistan’s wood industry is well developed and captures 95% of the country’s total market for furniture. The country has more than 700 units of wooden furniture with Chiniot, alone meets 80% of furniture demand in the country, Gujarat, with world-class furniture, Peshawar, Lahore and Karachi being important centers.
Director of Pakistan lifestyle furniture expo said that import of furniture items could create a viable threat of unemployment in local furniture industry. The furniture industry in Pakistan has great potential as it can be both a labor intensive and capital-intensive sector. Skilled craftsmen can create unique pieces while large scale factories can produce many identical units in both cases adding to the employment. “He said local furniture industry has a great potential and there is only a need of the patronization of the government and if furniture sector will be given a status of an industry, he is optimistic that it will bring multiple socio-economic benefits. He further demanded that the government must provide subsidies for growth of furniture sector especially in the preliminary stages besides removing hurdles in the promotion of furniture sector in Pakistan.
